Actually I was hoping that someone had an Excel spreadsheet for this. All the ESL HLG final results I've seen were in a spreadsheet format. |

I can send you Excel spreadsheets which I used for the CRRC HLG contest. They are intentionally very simple to minimize the chance for screwups. I have two versions, which I used on the two days:
1) For separate Expert and Sportsman+Novice groups. Essentially, this is two separate contests run concurrently. This requires that there's no frequency conflict within each group. Also, the Ex and Sp+Nv groups should be comparable in size, so they can time for each other.
2) For only two A,B groups. Here, Ex and Sp are mixed together. A is the current top 50%, and B is the current bottom 50%, and may/will change as the day proceeds. I first saw this system at BASS, and it works great. But there must be no frequency conflicts at all.
In general, having frequency conflicts really limits the type of group organization that you can do.

Thanks Mark. I'll send you an email with my email address.
With close to 50 competitors, I'm sure there were frequency conflicts at Polecat. I wonder what scoring system Denny used? Will have to contact him. |
