Please note: The club has decided to waive the fee for this contest due to Covid-19.
This will be a Mixed Launch Contest allowing for electric as well as winch launched-gliders (the latter will be based on AMA Competition Rules
for event 444 in a man on man forma). Electrics will set their altitude limiters to 150 m. timer starts at motor off. You must designate whether you will fly electric or winch for each day and stick with your choice. ESL scores will be submitted in the appropriate category depending on whether you fly winch or electric for each day.

Typically we will launch in sequence in 3-4 pilot flight groups. See video
for a launch example.

Launches will be from ESL provided winches. Pilots may launch their own
planes or have someone else launch for them, but the pilot must retain
control of the radio throughout the flight. If you need help launching from
a winch, don't hesitate to ask for assistance.
We will be using standard 100" landing tapes marked at 1 inch increments.
Any local modifications or exceptions will be set at the pilot's meeting by
the CD.
Winners to receive ESL magnetic plaque inserts:
Expert to third place

Because of Covid-19, the Park office has been closed so we were not able to obtain a permit for the event. Therefore we are not supposed to leave the gate open. There is a padlock on the gate. I will leave the padlock unlocked. Please reclose the gate after you enter, but please leave the padlock unlocked so people may come and go. Once everyone is here and we start the contest, the gate will be locked and you will need a key to leave. If there is any problem, please call me on my cell at 516-410-4359. A porta-potty will be available at the field.
Drive slowly, watching for walkers and mountain bikers crossing the road (Bike trails cross this road). There has been more traffic at the field with bikers, hikers, etc, during Covid-19, so please be careful as you drive on the dirt road. The road will open to a field. <
Food and Drinks - LISF will provide water and soft drinks at no charge.
Bring your own lunch as no food will be provided or be available on the
field.
Timing - All pilots will be expected to time for other pilots or the contest
will not be able to proceed until we have enough timers. Pilots are
expected to arrange for a timer prior to coming to the flight line. If you
need help, ask. If you have not timed before, this document may be helpful.

Frequency Control - As most pilots are on 2.4 GHz LISF will not be posting a
frequency control board. Anyone flying on 72 MHz or other channels
requiring frequency control should notify the scorekeeping tent so we can
identify any conflicts. If there are conflicts, the pilots in question will
be asked to work out a frequency change or a frequency sharing plan.
