Welcome to MASS soaring in Western, Pa!
Mixed format this year! Winches and E-launch unite!
Please sign up in advance to plan for cooking.
Contest will be held Saturday and Sunday with Friday being a fun-fly day. Anything soaring or electric will be permitted Friday. Camping is available at the field.
Scoring is seeded man-on-man with four to five in a group. Expert and Sportmans will fly rounds together depending on attendance.
E-Launch Notes:
1. Pilots will stand at the winch line and take a max effort launch towards the turnaround. No altitude limiter will be required, but a normal winch launch height is expected to be flown. CD reserves the right to limit motor time or DQ an excessive launch.
2. Flying E-launch for one round or all day will remove your scores from the ESL end of year awards.
3. A motor restart is considered an off field landing and will zero your round. (This note may be modified until consensus is reached.)
Also, please be aware the landing zone is going to be narrow. From tree to tree is about 600ft. The total field length is about 2200ft.
