 LISF June contest - location?		  Forum Locked

Can someone post a link to directions to the LISF contest in June (19th and 20th)? I am coming from the East - in Connecticut.

I also ask because I just went over to the LISF forums and noticed that the grass at the Syosset field is over 3 feet tall. Is this the location for the ESL contest or is it held elsewhere?

The contest is in the usual location at Stillwell field. I talked to John Hauff last week, and he told me that the grass will be mowed in time for the contest.

The field will be cut June 16 and 17, just in time for the contest.

General directions:

From the north

Throgs Neck Bridge South onto the Cleaview Expressway

Or

Whitestone Bridge Onto the VanWyke Expressway


From either of these roads,
take exit for Long Island Expressway route 495 east

From the South - Take Verrizano Narrows Bridge to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) North to the Long Island Expressway East



Go to LIE Exit 44 N, route 135 - Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway

Take to next to last exit - Route 25 East Jericho Tpk East

This is where the map picks up - Rt 135 is red on the map

Go east about 1/2 mile - You will see a golf course on the left - get in left lane and prepare for left turn at light

Turn left (shopping Center on Corner) onto South Woods Road

Pass three traffic lights - Then watch for the High School on the left - about 300 yards


Stillwell is on the right across from the High School

Got to back of parking lot - Gate should be open - Drive through gate

Dirt road - Go slow - many bikers and dog walkers in teh area

100 yards you will see open field on left. Look for the cars

Thanks for the information guys. The wind looks like it will be around 10 mph for the day, so it should be very interesting!
