02/26/03 - This program is intended to help raise the funds necessary to support the US FAI Soaring teams and ensure their success in representing the United States at the World Championships.
The idea of the program is to make use of the existing infrastructure that exists in AMA sanctioned contests to generate donations for the US Soaring teams. Specifically, clubs typically spend $100 to $500 or more for trophies or plaques for a contest. The intent is to use this money to support the US Soaring teams. In place of the normal awards, the US team would provide T-shirts and certificates (see sample) to be awarded to the winners of the contest. Of course non-sanctioned events are welcome to participate in the program as well.
A tentative donation level is as follows:

To enter the program, the club would order the T-shirts and certificates at the US Soaring Teams official web site. Payment could be made via check or possibly Pay-Pal. Orders would have to be placed at least one month prior to the contest to ensure delivery for the contest.
